    American Torq-Thrust D Wheels

These are my new wheels. I found them via a WTB ad on this board. They are nearly perfect. 15x7 aluminum (as opposed to the 'exploding' versions ), bead-blasted, polished lips, spokes ready for paint. For reference, I paid $1350 for the set, shipping included.

    How much do they weigh?

    And, are they forged?

Randy - they're cast and I think they weigh around 17Lbs.?? More than the magnesium versions and more than Fuchs.

Oh baby, I'd love to find a set like that. Reckon I'm not looking hard enough.

This is what happens when you are helping a buddy swap wheels on his car and you decide to set one next to your own car and squint to see what it looks like!

Those are some really virgin looking wheels Curt! Its interesting that American never drilled the holes for the center caps on the aluminum Porsche wheels. I think that 3 out of the 4 sets that I had were undrilled. Instead of the 5 ear cap, they used the Hexagon shaped snap in cap. Check out your early 70s Pano magazines for photos in the "new product " area.

Its fun having a couple sets of wheels to switch back and forth with!

Except that was after a few Maker's Marks and it was dark ..... hopefully they'll look as good in the daylight, sober!

Jeff - what size tires are you running on them and were there any clearance issues with the fender lips on the Targa?
