Early 911 Sport Seat Rail Dimesions

Can anyone with an early SWB 911 (1964-1968) tell me what the measurement of the seat rails (across~center-to-center) is. I have some early Recaro's and the rails are spread apart 16 1/8 inch on center. I have a stock set of seats taken out of a later (1969) car that are much wider. Thanks!

On my 1966 911, the seat rails measure 18" center to center.

There are differences between the area's of mounting on the factory sport seats, and the standard seats in the 65 to 73 cars.

I just measured a 16" center to center on my SWB sport seat rails and 15.5" on my LWB sport seat rails, standard rail width is 18".

Note that the sport seats bolt through the brackets which are placed to the outside of the rails, and the standard seats bolt "though" the rails...therefore the wider width on a standard seat.

Any other questions on sport seats, I'd be happy to help...I've got quite a few sets laying around right now, both SWB and LWB.

    regards,

Not sure I was clear....stock seats are interchangeable from 65 to 73...the approx width between the bolt holes is 18".

The sport seats have bottom "bases/brackets" which attach to the seats....it's these bases that bolt to the floors, THEN you bolt the seats to the bases.

Note that the bases are very different between SWB and LWB sport seats. The SWB sport seats have sliders built into the seats, and the LWB seats have the slider rails built into the bottom brackets.

Sorry I don't have pics handy, I'm on a dial up line today. Do a search on SWBSAM, and you should be able to find the pics that Sam has posted over the years, his are pretty clear.

    regards,
    Eric
