70 911S-2.0L HSR West racecar on ebay

Good evening. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this car or
its owner. It is on ebay. There is a reference to this car in another post on this site but not many responses. I am looking for a car to vintage race and wanted to know what you guys think. thanks, Tom

Yes, it's Tom's (or FS by Tom).

Yes, that is Tom's car and it's a real 1970 911S. I saw this car when it was being built and it is rust free. Tom Woodford is one of the best builders.

Look at the garage photos; that's Eade's award winning Viper Green silhouette RSR that Tom built for him (featured in Excellence magazine). Alongside is the famous monster 914-6 that I can testify goes like hell too!

I'd say that this red '70 S is a good one.

Look closely, those don't even look to be real headlights. It's a race car...lightness counts. Every time you add lightness, you lower your lap times. The brakes work better and cooler, the cornering forces are lessened so handling is improved, and the motor has less to push forward. It's all about being faster.

I don't want to sound too much like a chearleader, but Tom has years and years of professional Porsche building experience. One of his recent efforts was as technical editor of the "How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines" by Wayne Dempsey. Since the entire subject matter is technical, I expect Tom's contribution was substantial. He certainly knows his stuff.

Buy the book. Wayne and Tom did a great job.
