    69 S Head ID

    Fellows,

Is there a way to identify 69S heads without resorting to measuring the valves? Do they have a unique part number? If so, which is it?

I have various sets of heads available and want to ID them quickly (without having to go through the whole pile...).

I'm looking for more S heads by the way!

    Thanks in advance, Juan

Juan - I'm fairly sure all the 2.0 litre heads used the same basic casting.

Easiest way to identify the S heads is either from the valve sizes or port sizes - S ports are 36/35 whereas L/T/E are 32/32.

    Andy,

I'm afraid you are right. I was hoping there was an easy way to have someone go through my boxes of stuff (which are stored away from my place) without having to resort to a caliper to measure heads and ports.

    Thanks SO much. Cheers, Juan

    69 casting number.

Hello: The heads all have different casting numbers. I will look to see what the casting numbers are on the 69 S heads and the E heads as well. 69 S heads are worth some money, so I will buy any you have. I also use E heads ported and they work very well. Thanks Eric

    Eric,

I appreciate the info on the part numbers !

I must get another complete set of 69S heads as I'm trying to build 2 additional (spare) engines. Any leads?

    Cheers, Juan

    2.0 heads

Hello: Juan, I found the 2.0S heads of mine and the casting number is 901.104.308.1R. I will have to check the other garage for the 2.0 E head casting number. Do you need any fuel injection parts? Or 80mm pistons from a 906. Let me know what you are looking for I may have it. Give me some time to find it, I have alot of projects right now that need to go out yesterday. Thanks Eric

Thanks much Eric. I replaced the MFI on the race car with PMO 46's and use Cosworth pistons.

I might need parts for my other 69 S though. Not pistons but my MFI is acting up...

Once I go over it I'll now. Thanks SO much!
