    904/8 Prototype Crash

I wasn't going to post these at first because I figured this guy HAD to be dead. Amazingly, he (Edgar Barth) walked away with a bunch of bruises and a change of underwear!

This is 1964 at Nurburgring. He was doing testing of the 904 - 8 cylinder prototype and was sent out on new brakes. He forgot to pump the brakes before leaving the pits (a required procedure apparently for new brake linings?) and the brakes failed completely at speed.

    Very Lucky....

    Yup... a very lucky man.

And I bet that he never forgot to 'pump' the brake pedal to seat new pads against the rotors again.
