Thread: Engine Compartment Pad

    Engine Compartment Pad

When Mike restored Kermit, he replaced the engine compartment pad that backs up against the rear seats with a new one. Well, the foam looks nice, and seems to be cut right, but the damn thing has fallen down. It won't stay stuck against the rear seat backs. It's just floppy in there.

Any suggestions? I thought of some double sided tape, but I'll bet that the heat will keep the adhesive from sticking.

I've always used the 3M Spray Adhesive (trim/carpet etc) with good results. You have to shoot both items. Shoot the engine firewall/back seat and then the back of the pad. Now, here's the trick. You have to let it "tack up" before applying the pad. That's tough with the engine in but it can be done.

    Good luck,

The 76 Series seems to have a high temp spec.
I am going to try to locate this formulation.
