Which Orange is in the Bars of the Hood Emblem

I have come across an early Hood Emblem that is in need of restoration (don't they all??) And then in my searching, I found someone stateside that says that she will restore it to its former glory for $125. She says that if I send her a few (we didn't lock in the quantity), she said that she would do them for $100 each. I'm game. I don't know how many others are willing to take a voyage with me, but that isn't the real reason for this post.

She says that she knows the correct color orange. Well . . . . . I don't even know the correct color orange. Does someone out there really know what the proper color Orange is? Do you know the Pantone number for the color? I don't know what other standard to use.

I will be more than happy to post pictures of mine when I get it done, so that those of you who want, can follow in my footsteps, unless you are the gambling sort, and want to jump into the pool now.

She does early car emblem restorations as part of the cloisonne work that she does. She has done Cadillac emblems, and Buick emblems, and who knows what else.

    So, what color is Orange?

I have one that needs it, too. I'm game so make that two on the group buy.

BTW, I have enough very nice orange left on mine that she could use it for a color match.

    Ken:

I'm not sure, I'll have to touch base with her. To be honest, I'm not sure that I'm going to get mine done right now. Here's a picture of it. It's not perfect, but doesn't look too bad. Wondering about the original versus the refurbish-ment. I think with the prospect of getting more, she might go for 2 or three at the discounted price.

Really, mine looks a LOT better than I feared. Honestly, it has a bit of a bend to it, and I was idiot enough to try to straighten it a bit, and busted out the top bar. Otherwise, it had been as nice as the bottom one. Silly wabbit!!

I'm game, what is the turn-around time???

mine looks pretty shabby, but I don't have a spare, and I'd hate for the car to be without one.....I could hand-deliver, since I'm a few miles outside of NYC.

Mine looks better than yours! But I do have a modern spare, so I'm not sweating it.

Handing these off to Lewis sounds like the way to go.
