Getting a Kardex via Germany...in progress.

I just got off the phone with my buddy in Germany. He has been helping me try to solve the rumors behind free Kardexes for Germans living in Germany that have percolated over the years on the Pelican Board. It turns out that the rumor is true...sort of. Every dealer in Germany has access to a database that will pull the Kardex of every Porsche back to 1985. The dealer he spoke to though gave him a phone number at the factory to call directly to get a Kardex for earlier cars. He said it was a very anomalous number: Stuttgart area code, but the number started "911" followed by mostly zeros. Pretty cool!

He is going to call the number today to get the scoop on what it will cost to get a German kardex. This will be a very cool item for my German delivery car. I'll keep you guys updated regarding the details.

More news; I now have the name of the gentleman in charge of records at the Porsche factory and his direct phone number! He was already gone for the day when my friend called, but he will call back at midnight tonight (PST) which is 9AM in Stuttgart, the time the gentleman comes to work. I will refrain from posting the info, but if all goes well, I will share it later. I would hate to piss the factory off with a torrent of non-German speakers calling at all hours of the day.

    Stay tuned...

Looking forward to the info...hopefully we could collectively figure out a diplomatic way to use it.

It's my understanding that there is a disc w/ all the kardex's up to 1968.
These sheets are like templates which can be completed.

Kardex's newer than 68 are more like a plain sheet. Just some information but not in a template. These are not on a disc but are only available at the factory.

Bad news boys and girls, there is no more free lunch in Germany...

    PDF is enclosed.

Basically it costs 92.80 Euros plus 16% sales tax! It's cheaper in the States, unfortunately...it appears the factory has stipulated this charge, not the PCA.
