Thread: Want to hook an MP3 player up to your Becker or Blaupunkt?

  1. #1

Want to hook an MP3 player up to your Becker or Blaupunkt?

I am ordering one of these; I was shocked they exist:

    Mono...
    Stereo...

This adapter plugs in the back your old radio and lets you plug in anything with a minijack! Only bummer, is they are from Germany so shipping is expensive. If anyone wants one by the time I order mine, let me know and maybe we can cut down shipping to one order!

I am also asking the shop if they know of a means to convert the DIN low voltage output from the Becker head unit to the amplifier to RCA outs. This would give my head unit MP3 tunes AND a modern amp for driving the two 4" speakers in the dash!

    Wow, that is cool.
I tried one of those things that plugs into the cigarette lighter and broadcasts an FM signal, but it didn't work well at all.

This uses the auxiliary jack that was used in these radios for the optional cassette player. Line in clarity, baby.

    Kenik,
Did you order this adapter cable yet?
I have a Blau. Frankfurt according to the link it will work providing it has the
dummy plug in the DIN socket.
Will check my radio when the car get back from the shop.

Looks like the way to go, Itrip sucks in a modern car, doubt it will work
any better with an old radio.

    Lewis,

What is the part number or name? I was looking for it on the beckerautosound web site. Can't find it.

    Thanks

It's not listed; you have to call them. As you can tell, their web site is HORRIBLE. Here's the contact info at Becker:

    as ken said

you really need to call them, it is the aux input cable.

I also worked with Tom Mitchell 201-327-3434x1210, Ed Ebel was on vacation at the time.
