    Question What does it mean

    I wa slooking at the front of my 911 and in the front partwhere the water botle goes, there is a plate, it gives all the info, but on a space it says 911 E, then on my other 911 it says 911 C, what does this lettering mean?

    Hay Caramba.

    I do not know the exact details of each designation but it is in almost ANY comprehensive Porsche book.

    These letters designate model/body type changes... I am not sure how else to word it.... they designate a "series" of car for certain production years and go in alphabetical order ...

    I bet someone else can explain it better.

    Thanks guys, now my 71 has a C may be they changed the plate, but the vin is identical.

    C series cars are 1970-1971 model years. I have one - also reference "Excellence Was Expected".
