    Porsche Museum - worth a visit ?

    Hi
Managed to score a day in Stuttgart Germany, with my son before 'the girls' join us , just wondered whether the Porsche museum is worth visiting ... as i understand it's going to be totally redeveloped shortly ?

If not, are there any other nearby alternative vehicle museums that are worth visiting ?

    Many thanks
    Paul

    Cool Porsche Museum

The Porsche Museum is always worth a visit, though it is VERY small...
They only have room for 10 or maybe 12 cars...
The Mercedes Museum is nice and worth a visit (also about to move to a WAY biger plant)...
    Cheers!
Have fun, I hope the weather gets nicer until your visit!
    Right now it sucks...

Anyone visiting P AG should ask to talk to their archivist and go with a list of questions we've never been able to answer here. Just letting them know about this and other groups would be a good thing.

    Porsche Museum, Stuttgart

As mentioned, the museum is quite small, but you should try to get on a factory tour. I was there October last year and at very short notice, they said I could have easily joined one of the tours that day.

The Museum is supposed to be vastly expanded and then re-opening in 2007. I am hoping to lead a small tour of some of our Aussie TYP901 members to germany to include a visit to this new attraction.

But dont be out off that there are not that many cars on display, the museum shop alone is worth visiting to pick up a bunch of Porsche goodies including clothing, badges, model, books and calendars.
