    Thermostat location in 1969 911S

    Should/Do all 69S's have the oil cooler thermostat in the engine bay (as shown in this pic of Bill's beauty)?

    Yes.
    There are pros and cons for the thermostat locations of the early S models versus the later location of outside and under the rhs wheel well.
    Inside the engine compartment makes for a more cluttered(for your mechanic)and hotter environment for the part to work and under the wheel well is more susceptible to road debris damage.

    I am really embarassed to ask this, but since I have been having oil temp problems and I do have a '69S, can someone please point me to where in that picture the thermostat is.

    I was wondering about the Fram filter and if anyone used them. I guess the answer is a "NO".
