    window switch wiring

I recently purchased 3 chrome bezel window switches for my 1973.5 Porsche 911T, which I believed to be period correct for my car. The chrome window switches have a 4 prong connecting system, where as the black bezel ('74 and later) window switches already installed in my car use a 5 prong system. The 5 wire colors that connect to the black bezel window switches, when viewed looking directly at the back of the switch are as follows: top prong- red/black, middle left- green, middle right-black, lower left-brown, lower right-red/white. Is there a way to attach 4 out of these 5 wires to the chrome bezel switch in order for to make it function properly? I hate to have to return the 3 chrome bezel switches, and I'm not sure I even can, because I believe they are period correct for my car. They also weren't cheap. The chrome bezel window switches are original Porsche parts. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

What I have found out is that 1973 911's had unique window switches for only that year. They had chrome bezels, and also a 5 wire system. this is why '74-'89 black bezel style window switches fit '73 cars. '73 window switches are still available from Porsche, in Germany, but are rather pricey at around $57 a switch. My supplier of the switches is giving me a full refund including shipping, since they were mislabeled to include '73 models. They had been unaware up to this point that the window switches were unique for '73s, as opposed to earlier 911's.

I thought they were available however the 73 part number part supplies a switch that is a different shape and its not a 5 pin its only a 4 pin
