    Aluminum lisence panel for SWB ?

    I see Resto. Design http://www.restoration-design.com/ has an aluminum lisence panel for a 70 - 73S. It looks the same as the panel for the 65 - 73.
    Is there anything that is diff with the 70 - 73S ? Am I missing something there ? I know the bumpers are diff with the later cars, but then why would the steel piece be for 65 through 73 and the alum. only for you bastards with S's.?

    I come to you first only cause - cheap bastard that I am , I'm trying to save the pennies the phone call to MI. would cost.

    Thanks;

    John

    Make sure that you determine the mounting tabs are secure (don't ask how I know) as some of these (Parts Heaven replicas) were "glued" in place. Welding these to the panel is a must, however, you must be careful as the metal is thin and soft. I'd TIG it in a couple of places for strength. As for weight it's something along the line of a pound or three.

    The early SWB cars did not have these but it is a good "bench racing" piece. Bob's car has all the tricks!

    Best,

    Tom
