    Smile headliners

Has anyone installed a new headliner in a coupe? Any hints? Front and rear first and then the sides? Or sides first?

Front and back working from the center out to the sides

Do it when the weather is warm to hot. The vinyl will strench a little better.

Get a box of file clips from Staples too. The little ones with the arms. They work great to stretch it into shape before gluing.

I've never done a headliner on a 911, but putting the headliner in the sun for a while will make it much easier to work with.

I did this only once before - in the California sun. I first installed the headliner bows through the headliner and installed in the roof - to get it in roughly the right spot. I then did the front and rear sections - held in place by those little clips (that come off with the old headliner). I then did the sides with those clips too (you will need more of those little clips). Also, I used contact cement applied with a very small paint brush. As usual, measure twice and cut once (like the light cutouts). Good Luck
