    911R grill

Does anyone know where I can obtain the diamond wire
mesh that is used for the engine grill area on the 911R?

    Juan,

James McHugh paint & body in Hallandale.
He was highly recommended by Butch Stokes
who is doing my twin plug conversion.

He painted Antonio Gaitan's 73 S aubergine which came out quite spectacular.

Look forward to seeing your car.

Juan, Antonios P - car is a 73.5 CIS T. It did come out beautiful, and Jim McHugh is a great painter [ i have been using his services for years ]. Butch is also a great person and a very skilled mechanic. Rico, you will be getting a kick a$$ motor!

I am still looking for the correct mesh or as close to it.
I have tried most of the expanded metal dealers on
the web, home depot, lowes ect., however the diamond
patterns are either to large or too small.
    someone help!!!

    Butch Stokes

Rico, can you give me a phone # for Butch Stokes please. He did some engine work for a prior owner on my viper '73E that I'd like to talk to him about. The owner was Brook Ballagh - did you happen to know him?

Obviously, you must think well of his work?

    Thanks

Find a metal supply store and stay away from the chain stores they all carry similar crap. You will also have a better chance of getting mesh in aluminum vs. heavy steel.

I ended up using a pattern that I liked, it was cheap and light. I am still looking for the correct pattern though. It's also hard to find mesh with the diamonds pointing the correct direction. I have heard that the mesh used was not the same on every car, and the most accurate would be to use the mesh under a standard grill by itself.

    Bingo.

And I'd appreciate it if you'd stop reading my mind.
