    Build ideas for 1967 911S Targa R-style

I am soon to start restoration of a non numbers matching 67S soft window targa. I am just finishing a 67S targa all original and thought because this car is not a prestine numbers matching car, it would be cool to do it in a R-style. The car was originally special order signal red with black interior. Thanks to Eric Linden, I do have an S engine within a few of the original number. I was thinking about an R rear bumper, R lights, rear seat removed, after market sport seats (gts-classics). I am going to keep it signal red.

I was hoping the board would have some ideas. hood fill tank? What about door panels?

How about doors like this? They match the basket weave on the GTS seats perfectly.

    Kenik,
I could use a pair of those basket weave door panels.
    Where can you get them??

They are stock door panels; they were just wrapped in the same material as the seats. You can order the material from the same place you get the seats. That's what the PO of my car did. You can order the RS America hardware anywhere.

Sometimes it's good to exercise some originality. I wouldn't want to show up to the ball with the same car as someone else 'cept for the paint color. There's a danger of building the same car over and over again...if you know what I mean.

Gary and Rod Emory built this for Alan (last name forgotten), and he had it at the 05 Treffen. Targa bar is removeable, exposing a true "roll bar". Nice touches, not wild about the color (imho..). I used to own this car, and sold it to Gary, it was a true matching # 69S targa, 2nd one built, was polo red, with mostly original paint, perfect gaps etc....
