Correct spare wheel in 1969 911S

My car has a 15 x 5.5 Fuchs spare w/ Fulda bias ply tire. Is this correct for my car? I thought the steelies were correct?

You should have an early deep 6 as your spare. I've had 3 69S's and all of them had date stamped matching fuchs including the spare.

Looks like another big ticket item to add to the list...

You should be able to sell the 5.5" Fuchs for more than you pay for a deep six...

I thought the 5.5s are less valuable? Why are the 5.5s more expensive?

    Spare

I have a deep six fuchs with heart that I am selling from my early 70 because I think it should have a steel 5 1/2 spare which I sourced with an original michellin tire.

I will sell the wheel which is round but will need a recondition to make it perfect for $400 plus shipping.

I'd love the wheel, but need to sell the 5.5" first. I am going to post it for sale tonight. Money is tight after a little snafu regarding shipping costs on some parts has resulted in my discretionary income for the month being wiped out. Anybody have a suggested selling price for the 5.5? My memory says it is in excellent condition and not in need of reconditioning. Is the Fulda bias ply tire of any value?

The 5.5's - like the 4.5's - are valuable because they were only made for 1 year - in this case 1968. In addition they're popular with the VW hotrodders.

I would say that a 5.5 x 15 Fuchs in good condition is worth ~$300-350 whereas a deep six in equivalent condition would sell for ~$250-300 (as there were many more of them made).

These prices are for wheels in good original condition - not restored.
