This looks like a job for Cornpanzer. Right in his neighborhood too.

Is anybody here convinced that this even possibly has any 911 parts in it?

Well smart-guy, I did in fact end up buying this car!Originally Posted by racemor
The car was built in 74/75 by Bill Mitchell of Baldwin Motion/Motion Mini-car fame. It was debuted at the NHRA Summernationals in 1975 and immediatly won the "Best Engineered" award. Keep in mind that 1974 was the first year that the Pro-Stock cars were tube chassied, so a tube Gas class car with a four link and funny car front susp was totally state of the art.
The car was sold to Ohio in 78 and painted to its current paint scheme. It is pretty rough, but with the current boom in popularity of the 60s/70s nostalgia Gasser drag cars, I couldnt let this one get away.
Yes, it may look goofy, and its certainly not everyones cup of tea, but back in the day it was a pretty cool car.
Not sure what i am going to do with it yet.
For more details see the Dec 1975 Volkswagen Greats (6 pages) and the Nov or Dec 1975 Hot Rod (color feature).

No flame from me...I can see an original Hemi block sitting back there...what did it run originally?

Sorry Paul, the car ran varying sizes of VW engines depending on if it was running G/Gas, H/Gas or whatever. What you see in the pic is the transaxle.
Here is a pic of the car in its heyday. BTW, it ran high tens in the 1/4 back in the mid 70s.

Is that a matching numbers car?
Very cool, Dave!
Hmmm, fabrication time...anybody remember the old "hemi under glass" Barracuda?
