    twin plug head value

    911 104 306 date stamp 5/71 twin plug. intake approx. 37.2mm, exhaust approx. 34.9mm
I've decided to sell my 2.8 twin plug head motor (disassembled)
Can someone give me a ballpark value on the heads? They are stock heads drilled for twin plug. I'm trying to establish a price for the heads only.
Here is a link to a thread I posted some time ago about the heads.

This was a 2.8 twin plug motor that came in a car we bought about a year and a half ago. We used the car for time trialing and racing. Pulled a few head studs at the last event. I disassembled the motor to a short block. Was going to send it to SoCal for a rebuild and decided not to split the case for shipping purposes. The case had not been time certed. I figure who ever built it took it to a short block and started from there, (7R case), Mahle 2.8 p&c, twin plug heads, 906 cams, aluminum flywheel, PMO intakes, 46mm Webers, etc. Engine dynoed at 255 h.p. good leak down and comp. numbers before the head stud incident. Compression was around 10:1 and ran on pump gas. I've put a value on pretty much everything else except the heads. I'm having a 3.4 twin plug built, so I want to sell the 2.8 as a complete package, without the carbs & ignition.

I come up with around $5500 b/o not including the 906 cams. This is the number I come with parting everything out seperately. I've had a few folks suggest the cams were worth $2000 +.
This includes a 7R case, crank, rods, all innards, Mahle 92mm p&c, twin plug heads, cam towers, valve covers, oil cooler, red fan shroud, 11 blade fan & alt, eng. tin, aluminum flywheel, pmo intakes matched to the heads, 1 5/8" headers, all the loose stuff. Not included are the 46mm webers, no ignition, no front pulley.
