“The Last of the Ski Bums”

I watched and old Dick Barrymore ski film “The Last of the Ski Bums” on Saturday night at my family’s ski home in Central Oregon. Great footage of late ‘60’s skiing and racing, including Jean Claude Killy’s 1967 Arlberg Kandahar win at Sestrieres. There was also some fantastic footage of a ’67 911S blazing through the snow-covered alps. (The film stars Ron Funk, a childhood friend of my father who I had the privilege of skiing with in Sun Valley as well as windsurfing with in the Columbia River Gorge.) Great video if you’re into old ski movies. The Porsche footage was a neat bonus!

Very cool! I'd love to see that film. BTW: I took a Super 8 movie of Killy around 1973 when he was on the US Pro Series. Those were the dual courses with the big jumps. Still have the film. I'll have to convert it to digital some day.
