    Early 911 engine is very heavy!

    Did you know that Ferrari Dino V6 engine is actually 115 lbs lighter than early 911 engine?

    Numbers like this can be very misleading, to be fair we need the weight of the cooling systom complete with water, radiater, hoses,fan etc. many times you will see comparisons made between a SBC long block to a 911 engine with the cooling systom, exhaut carbs etc. so or these all striped long blocks?
    I have had friends who put SBC's in their 914's and gained alot more weight than they estimated.

    Those Ferrari Dino weight numbers are suspect. I don't believe that the 246 engine is only 11 lbs heavier than the 206 model. No way. I'll check my Ferrari books.

    This information sheet seems untrustful. Many things dont make sense. They even list the 69'-73' 911S including the RS as the same weight, these are four different engines!!

    At least we're not running a Chrysler 1955 300 Hemi. I wonder how much the 272 Y-Block in my '55 Ford P/U weighed?
