    Downunder (Victoria, Aust.,) drive pics

Thought we could entice a few of you downunder with some pics of where Mike and I went for a blast today...kids stayed at home to watch the Aussie Rules football Grand Final (go the Swans!) and Mike and I took off mid-afternoon to do a recon. for one of the TYP901 Register Nationals runs. The Nats are on next weekend, so we thought it would be responsible and prudent to check our details for everyone (yeah sure...I just wanted to drive my car which I never drive and Mike does everyday!)...we had a ball! Speeds weren't crazy as the roads were pretty twisty and narrow most of the way, think I hit 180kmh once or twice, but the views were spectacular even if the day was cloudy. All this less than a couple of hours from home...I'm proud to say that I explored the limits of adhesion a couple of times and took only a little time to settle into "jazz blue". I drive my modded VW Multivan most of the time, which goes like stink and handles really well but is very different from the 911 (obviously). Sunny Sundays I sometimes take the "Gregory Abarth" for a spin, but that's very different too. It was great to sit my ass back in the driver's seat of the cruisy but lively 2.7S (gee cutout comes round quickly by comparison to the 2.0L S engine in the 356 though!)...

Hope you guys enjoy the pics; we sure enjoyed the drive...

Loads of gum trees and lush green pasture (finally the country has had decent rain)...oh yeah and me "at 10.00am and 2.00pm" heading into a nice sweeping corner at around 100mph - God that felt good!!!!

Gets a little narrower and more twisty as we go up on the ridge for a while...views get better, but I'm afraid the pics just don't do it justice...

Then the sun is setting and we're finally slowing down to get a time and distance to our destination....Mike is in the very uncustomary passenger seat in "jazz blue" all the way ... note the Early S 15th anniv. shirt! Oh yeah and he's wearing our brand new Nats 2005 cap as well...

Next Sunday the lawn area of Warrook Cattle Farm in front of the beautiful homestead will be full of early 911s...can't wait!

That's all of the pics guys (except the censored ones of course )...

Hope you enjoy a little of Aus.

    Cheers,
    Lisa
