Hey Dave, just got home so it feels like tomorrow to me Heard ya called. Give me a ring tomorrow when I'm more lucid.
I tried to locate sound for that clip but couldn't. Would have been awesome. I love the way they were flogging those cars!

Wowsers...one can almost hear the sounds of those bad boys rumbling thru the turns.

Michael,
The video looked familar so I looked at some downloads I saved from when Porsche had their "40 Fast Years" web pages and sure enough, several of the files became the video you have. Anyone know where those web pages are archived?

I also got them from the 40 fast years page - great ones with sound (going around the cones) but missed this one.
-Cool is spinning a sand beige 911 pausing for the glam shot and rocketing off - cut, print- repeat.

The track footage is from "The One For The Road"; a 25 minute factory promotion film for the '73 RS/RSR period cars. There's very cool footage of Dr. Porsche admiring the Donohue-Brumos RSR that won Daytona. They had flown it over to the fatherland for him and have it parked on an infield(?) hill overlooking the track somewhere in Germany (Nurburgring?)...very cool film.
Lots of factory assembly scenes as a well as street and testing footage.

Jens,
Any ideas on how to get a copy of that film? I'm sure there are many of us who would like to see it.
That red 911 was handling VERY tight thru the turns. Is that car a stock 911S, a stock RS, or other? It made the yellow S seem "bouncy" in comparison.
The red one is an RSR. You can also catch a glimt of a white RSR in there. Wish it had sound..!
