    Yes,

Look over on the "for sale" listings in parts, Wolfturbo has a nice set for sale that is appropriate.

I have only ever seen one chrome sport seat recliner hinge out of all the seats I have owned or seen, and I assume it was done by someone as a special item. All the rest have been black, including the earliest 67 seats I have seen. Note that the recliners on sport seats are different from stock seats.

Here is a pair in my old 69S.

I have seen the chrome sides on at least two sets of seats, both sets looked original and both were on late recaro sport seats (see pic).

The same sport seats with chrome recliners were optional on BMW 2002s. Most of those that I have seen also had contrasting piping. Course I think the tilt/mounting bracket were slightly different.

Aha! I might have guessed, thanks!... the one chrome that I have was shipped to me from Germany. I have one of those tilt brackets, and it is indeed different.

I've been thinking about using the chrome recliners on my sports for a slightly different look. Hard to find without a sport seat attached though.
