Trying to sort something out ...

I purchased this car back in April, and really don't know much about it. In looking at the VIN tag it says it's a 911T - but on the right of the tag it has 911~S 66. What does that mean? Thanks.

Sorry... Here is a picture of the VIN tag.

    Its a 1969 911T Targa.

'heizeinrichtum' means heater I think. I guess '911 ~S 66' has something to do w/ that.

Here's the funny thing... here is a picture of the engine #6390946. The trans type is a 901/13. It has alloy calipers all they way around, S guages, and S trim. Why would someone do that to a T?

S options were less expensive than the S engine.
Now stop teasing and show us a pic of the car

Yep- I'm sure many T's were ordered with some or all (except the engine) S options.

You could order a Kardex to find out if this was how it came from the factory or if a prior owner upgraded at some point.

So, you could buy a T chassis, with all the S options, including an engine, and trans and it was cheaper?

Here is a picture of engine and body. Beware... it doesn't look very nice, but it runs great!

Is a cert of auth the same thing as a Kardex?

Wow... I just think thats the strangest thing I ever heard. I mean, back then it might have saved how much money?

If you ordered the car with the S engine it would BE an S, and cost the same.
From what I understand you can't get a detailed Kardex for the earlier cars - but Porsche will gladly charge you not a little money for a certificate.

Does the car have any rust ?

If not and it runs good you have yourself a nice wagon (and a good project)

    Have fun;

That S engine might have been put in by a later owner - 6390946 would have fuel injection, not Webers.

What type of webers are those IDA's or IDS's ?
