    FS - Rubber floor mats

    I figured I'd offer these up to you guys before going to ebay.
    Set of rubber floor mats that came in the stack of goodies I got with my '66. I don't know if they are factory or not, the fronts do have leather straps. They are surely not up to the standards of most of the cars on this site but if you're looking for a beater set to use and abuse, these will probably work for you. The fronts are a little dry in some places and do have a few cracks. There rears seem to be a lot nicer but just dirty.

    Those look factory original. I would suggest wiping the loose dirt off them and then giving them a nice bath in Lexol Vinyl conditioner for a day or two. That will moisten them up and they will look ALOT nicer afterwards. Then put them on EBay. I would thin k you would get at $150-200 for them if they clean up nice.

    Garth, could you tell us a little more about the Lexol Vinyl conditioner treatment. I have a set that could probably use it. What kind of product is that, any idea where it can be bought?

    Lexol is a pretty well known company known for its leather conditioners vinyl cleaners, and other car interior related products. You should be able to find them in most car parts stores like Pep Boys, Discount Auto, etc. I used to get it in Florida at Discount Auto.
    Basically, after scrubbing off as much dirt as possible with a soft brush (I used a very fine .004 steel wool and soapy water to minimize any abrasions), I mixed a good half bottle of the Lexol vinyl conditioner together with warm water and immersed the floor mats in there for a day or so. After they have soaked, take them off, wipe them down, and drop them back in the car. I suppose that Armorall would work as well, but it leaves a very greasy residue that I hate.
    If the mats don't look good after that, throw the ****ing things out and get new ones....
