Old buddy Lars came out in his '72 hot rod to help, watch, and take some pics

I think Lars just might run his car next time...

All and all the day went pretty well ...

Ran 4 out of 5 run sessions...
Logged 37 laps total...that's about 65 miles total, or about total of 50 minutes of all out 10/10ths driving

    Went off-and-on track only once......
Car started 'coming around' on the big high speed sweeper only once...

    Nothing got hurt...

And........ I posted a better time than the 5 other cars in my class

    ... a good day...

Hope you all have a chance to give it a try......

    Cheers,

    CONGRATS Chuck!!!

Great job.....no substitute for experience, aye?

You earned a well deserved numero uno!!

Also, thanks for swinging on by and saying 'Hi' Saterday.

Over on the big track had a great weekend, pulling off a personal best lap time of 1:30.40.

During the Pantera Challange cup race, which was my very first w2w race, I finished 4th out of 19...

Looks like we both had a great weekend....

Congrats to both Chuck and Johnny Riz for some excellent driving.

Chuck totally kicked-butt on his class. Notice that cute grin clutching his winner's plaque. (You can check his time on the POC website.)

And big cheers for Johnny Riz and Jim who taught the Ferrari & Pantera owners a thing or two about Porsche superiority. Looking foward to seeing all you guys again at Willow next year.

Chuck, thanks for the picture of my car in "track shoes." While I didn't come anywhere near your time, I did break my own personal best on Saturday with a 1:24.5.

On Sunday, I enjoyed catching and passing some higher horsepower cars in my run group. And I was seen on three wheels turning through the skid pad. I guess I'm at the edge of the slippery slope. That may just be my last Leaf Green track day. I'm currently searching for an '84-86 Carrera for next season for POC short track and time trial events. If you hear of any good ones for sale, email me, <sandyi1@verizon.net>. Thanks.

    Chuck,

Good seeing you over at Zeke's the other night. Great food!!!

You got me thinking about the track. What are the rules or formula within the class you run in? Is there a site that describes what's allowed (mod wise)? My 73 E is fairly stock except for the 2.7 RS spec motor, 8" & 9" 16's with rear RS flares, SC trailing arms, LSD, single battery, larger F&R sway bars, Green Bilsteins front, yellow rear, and ducktail. (Maybe not so stock after all) what do you think?

    Thanks Buddy,

Hey, Chris -- If you're speaking of the Porsche Owners Club, you can find their 2006 car classifications on their website. You'd definitely be in a fast class with that engine, LSD, the larger sway bars, etc. But it would be very cool to see another early 911 out on the track.

(By the way, we meet a very long time ago when you were selling that orange 911E. I drove it in Burbank. Hope all's well.)

    Try this Chris,

The 2005 GCR (General Competition Rules) is what's on their web site

    http://porscheownersclub.org/pdf/200...RRev010405.PDF

Let me know if you need any help deciphering it...

    Cheers,

    Thanks Chuck, Thanks Sandy.

I'll download and read through the rules. Looks quite complex....but cool at the same time.

    Appreciate the input.

Sandy, I do remember you. Hope all is well.

    Chuck, enjoy your trip bud.

    All the best
