    Early Porsche Dealers

Does anybody know a resource that would list the earliest Porsche dealers in the USA, by year, from 1973 earlier? It's a bit of an odd request, but I am curious which dealers have the longest histories, which are now defunct and where they were/are, etc.

That's actually not to hard. One of the original documents in the maroon jacket on a early car was a wordwide directory of all Porsche dealers. It wasn't in the owners manual, but it was a seperate book. I don't have one at my fingertips, but I have one somewhere.

I have the afore mentioned Dealer Directory from 1970. If you have some dealers or cities of interest, email me and I'll try to help you.

    Paul,
Was this with your car in the maroon jacket?

Yep...the original owner left all that stuff in the glovebox...hey, I even have the original antenna keys. You need a schematic of a Blaupunkt? I got it! All as placed in the car's glovebox @ delivery...Only thing I don't have is the original window sticker.

This is how I think it worked...

If the the dealership included the 'Distributors and Dealers' booklet in your maroon folder then you got it ... If not, then you just got the 'Owner Relations' card... telling you that the 'Distributors and Dealers' booklet is available ...

This is both sides of the 'Owner Relations' card out of my '73 .......... My folder didn't include the booklet

    Hope this helps...
