    Horn Butterfly

Hello friends, can anyone tell me what an early horn butterfly is worth.

It is definitely metal but non-magnetic.

The chrome and leather are shot, obviously restorable.

Actually I am interested in selling this whole set up from a 1966 car I beleive.

I just do not know values on the real early stuff.
The "metal" horn is kinda cool but I do not need it.

    Honest appraisal's appreciated!

    Russian,
I would say that if the butterfly, hornbutton and ring are in good shape those alone are worth $150+. It's hard to find a leather horn button with the original Porsche emblem stamped on it that is not damaged (it's like finding a 40 year old leather shoe that still is good condition!). The wheel may be worth another $150. So figure around $250-300. But in this market, who knows?

    ?

    Thanks!

What material is this "metal" butterfly made of.... does not look or feel like aluminum?

The steering wheel has only one number stamped on it: "61"
    Now WTF is that??!!

Are the turn signal and wiper arm dealy worth anything (also the column and stalk)??

Anyhow the butterfly and ring are in good shape but need to be re-finished.

I am ready to sell this whole thing once I get a good consensus on the value.

Don't want to go to EBay

    Thanks Gruen911

I am guessing but I would think the butterfly is made of some kind of pot metal. It is definitely not plastic or aluminum. Dont know what the 61 stands for but my wheel has the number 793 on it? Maybe that is the production number? As for the turn signal and wiper relay, I don't know what they are worth. But if mine weren't working properly, they would be worth alot to me...

Whatever it is, it melts when you take it to the powdercoater. My vote is that it's a zinc-pot metal substance.
