    Question about the outside mirror

    Wow, what a great car!

When this car came out of Japan, did it have (round) mirrors on both doors? I'm curious, because every single one of the japanese cars I have seen, whether built for the japanese market originally (RHD) or not, has had 2 round mirrors. I've been given to understand that this is or was a requirement for registering the cars there. Maybe this car is an exception because it went to Japan relatively late in life?

Rob's car was not a Japanesse delivery from the factory..
Jeff conversed with me about the car before Rob bought it and we both highly aggreed it was acceptional right down to the original door seals.. You have to understand,, Its very rare to see any RS still in this preserved unmolested state...

    Regards, Robert..

I'm confused. I thought Mark P. bought your (Rob's) VG RS. I remember seeing a picture of the white/blue RS next to the VG RS and Mark being excited to have an RS that he could drive.

    Tom,
To further your digression, you have laid out my thesis why I think the early 911's are such great cars for the money. People pay stupid money for junk that isn't even rare. I also agree it's not about the money, I also remember an RS I passed up in 80's also in the teens nice one were selling for 30-40K back then if I recall. But it is all about the cars not the money.

"It's always been about "the experience". I've not gotten rich but that was never the reason for buying in the first place."

Tom, wise words in your post indeed. Especially those regarding cars as investments. Hey, we all march to different drummers. I've simply chosen to enjoy the experience with the same car for a few decades. Same car, same wife all these years? I guess some of us just like living in a rut. Oh, wait! Rut is the state a buck deer enters into when...

Get your butt over here soon Cees! The girls miss their friend who "talks funny".

By the way when you do arrive, I will have another interpretation of the Carrera RS concept for you to sit in. Different marque, similar execution, comparable end result. Think Italian! More details to follow. Best regards.
