    Porsche Transporter

Finally received my transporter model today. It's been backordered from Germany for several months. Really cool. This is the transporter that was at both Rennsport I & II. Is it owned by Brumos? Anyway, this is 1:43 scale. I'm not really sure what they hauled with this thing ..... anybody know? The color is slightly off but not nearly as bright red as it appears in these photos.

That's pretty cool, Curt. I have the MB transporter with a 300SLR on the back. I'll bet you make authentic motor sounds as you drive them on and off, eh?

This company - Premium ClassiXXs - is also releasing this service van next month. I think this is from the late 50's, early 60's.

I got this from Raceland. Very good company. I've been a customer for years.

Hey Curt, it shows as no longer available. Do you know any other sources, in the US maybe?

Tom, I know this was a limited run, so they may be gone completely. That means checking ebay or eBay.de unfortunately. Here's a few other German dealers. I haven't seen this offered in the US.

    Transporter

    Curt

there is obviously a market for these transporters (at a price)

One would have thought that they would do a run in various liveries like minichamps and others do with cars. I have always wanted the martini one like the attached pic. the one on the right seems to be the same transporter that you have only different livery.

    have you seen any others?
Is the one you got hand built or does it look like it could come from a production run? the price 75 Euros suggests it is a production run - I would have thought hand built would be closer to 150 euro

Also with your experience collecting (and advising via the old website) what do you think the chances are of the manufcturer of the one you have making a run of these in Martini colours if a number of people email them asking?

Hugh - this is a production-type diecast. I had never heard of the company before - Premium ClassiXXs - although they are affliliated in some way with NZG who is a well-known German diecast manufacturer of Porsche models. I will contact the company directly and see what I can find out as far as availability and the possibility of a Martini version. -- Curt

BTW: to answer my own question, this transporter was used primarily to haul around the Carrera 6's!
