    Sport muffler up for grabs....

I am letting my Dansk Sport Dual outlet Muffler enter the for sale market. I cannot recall what I originaly paid Pelican for it. I do recall that I threw about a hundey at it for the Jet Hot Coating in Restoration Grey Color. I cut seven inches off of both outlets. They are even with S rear bumperettes.

    See the informative thread below.

I belive that $280 is fair for it. I only put about a 1K miles on it. One run from PHX to Ventura and another to Sedona. Buyer pays for chipping and deceiving.

    Part # is 911.11102 500 DUAL 31 .03

Any idea if this has enough back pressure for mfi? I'm feeling back pressure but she's 30 years old and keeps adding to the honey-do list!

    Oh no...

MFI and Sport Mufflers do no get along...at all. Carburated cars only apply.

    Shawn-

Interested in a trade for a new 2-in-1-out stock SS muffler? I was just going to build my own sport jobbie from this one, paid $350 for it several years ago, but it's just laid around the garage, never been installed. It's got the grey painted, not polished, finish.

I know this is the "common wisdom" and maybe even true is most cases, but not all. I did some extensive dyno testing with my 2.2S w/MFI comparing stock vs. sport muffler and different intake filters. The sport muffler actually showed better power than the stock muffler across the rpm range. The testing and results are detailed in this thread:

    Sport mufflers

Hello: I have put a couple of cars on a dyno with and without sport mufflers and the winner is sport muffler everytime. The little engines work great with the sport mufflers as long as the outlet tubes are 2.5 inchs in diameter and a certain length for your power band. I have built quite a few of these and the sound at full throttle is worth it. The best sound so far is a 3.0 race engine with twin plugs. Second is a twin plug 2.0 with big cams and 8000 rpm. Thanks Eric

I was going to make the same comment. I have had MFI cars with sport mufflers they ran and sounded fantastic.

We run a 2.2S with a Bursch Sport Muffler. She is loud and very quick. Absolutely no adverse effect of performance! Sounds very good as well at open throttle.

Hey Shawn, sounds like this would be the way to go. If Gary passes then I would like to be next. Rick
