    kenikh;

    OK , take that beautiful car of yours out for a few serious rallies (the kenikh Monte), put some skinnys on it and drive it in the snow a bit ( that would be fun in one of these cars). Maybe use it to commute and then next year you'll HAVE to paint it.

    Budget

    Budget - not the sky but more than what I was planning on. The first step is a serious evaluation followed by the rust issues, a solid new dress in Polo Red, interior will be carpets, headliner, redo the sport seats and a dash recover. Mechanical will be teardown reassembly with new bearings, seals, rings etc. I think the rest is all there and in good condition will just need a bit of cleaning, powder coating, plating here and there and then the final assembly. I will do a lot of sweat equity during the process to keep costs manageable. I think the shop is probably the best one in the country. It's a small operation, they primarily manage the process and sub out things like the painting, plating etc. What I started with is a matching numbers 67S that I've had for almost 15 years noe. I have a tad shy of $15K in it including two sets of tires, two clutches, rebuilt calipers (Stoddard) tranny and rear axel's (local shops)and what I paid for it 15 years ago and probably 30-40K miles on it. It's been on a couple of long drives (1000 miles plus) and was used as a daily commuter on sunny clear days for several years. I don't expect to get what I'll have in it after it's done but thats moot anyway in that all I want is a really solid good looking driver that I can enter into a few wash and shines and feel proud of. Will sell the 968 when it's ready and settle down to 1 P car.

    Here is where it was:
