    wtb 380mm steering wheel

Does anyone have a 73, 914, 380mm steering wheel for sale?

    .....

    Maybe.

Depends on what you are willing to pay..... unfortunately for you the wheel I have would command a premium on EBay.

It is a 73 914 not perfect but all original and covering intact all the way around but does have "wear"

I can post pics - but if you are looking to spend $50 then I will hold off on the pics.

    Pics

Taken 30 mins ago with a 10 Megapixel camera

The back shows worse than the front.

I haven't tried to hide anything, wheel is still very presentable for a 30+ year old wheel.

Only interested in selling if it is going on a car and not being re-sold..... be happy to give a friendlier price to peeps here on the Registry.

Otherwise I will keep it or if I decide to sell at a later date it will go on EBay where they are paying crazy prices for these things.

    THANKS

What do you think of this one?

Its going on a 73.5 T. not going to resale. Can you restore your wheel or having one unrestored better?

    grrrrr

    That's a 1974 wheel

    AND

that guy is a bit shady, I'd be really careful on a purchase from him

Aside from that - that price is crazy to me but EBay is being crazy about the 914 wheels.

Personally I would NOT pay that much for a 1974 914 wheel in any condition other than NOS.

That price is approaching the 914-6 steering wheel value of which I have two of those in great shape.

Personally I like a little bit of patina but indeed you can have one recovered.

I'd part with my wheel for $250 delieverd....bear in mind that I honestly believe it would reach that price and a bit more on EBay.

AND remember that mine is indeed a 1973 wheel and not a 1974.....

No worries either way...... but again that price is ridiculous (the EBay wheel)

How ae your 914-6 wheels? Would you part with one of those?

    .

I'd have to think hard about that.

    They are both 1970 wheels

One is in all original form/leather with just a few stitches coming apart and some aligatoring starting... but the wheel is really really nice IMO.

The other has been recovered and it was done nicely - only catch is that it was recovered in TAN leather - different indeed but looks great.... although I like it as is - it would be simple to simply dye the leather black

Once dyed the wheel would be near perfect as the leather is in great shape.

Let me take some pics for ya.

Bad news would be the price though.

Oh, forget that $250 on my other wheel - you can have it for $200.

I was reading some past posts and they seem to think a 914-6 wheel is the way to go. Modifications to the 914-4 wheel to get it to work??

    Thanks for your help
    Mike
