My 911 is 305133s ,I believe its the 32nd produced. Was purchased at Glockler in june of 67 with the first two services from Glockler in june & aug. eng. # 960012. has many features of the early 911s, door handles etc. I believe it was manf. in oct of 66....
Have a look at www.early911s.com Click 'Registry' then, once the listing appears you can select several of the headings, including "year" and sort the list in that order. This should be useful in your quest for history; I think there are 3 or 4 listed that are earlier than 305457S although none may be in better condition!
If you are not familiar with that site, be sure to also check out '911 Gallery'. It too, can be sorted several different ways; by year, color, etc. It is probably the most useable collection of early 911 photographs in existence.
Good luck.

How about posting a picture of your RS 1551?
Thanks,

Thanks for that info. and lead. Looks like Spyder has the earliest lhd so far. What about rhd anyone? I am thinking there must be one earlier than mine in the Southern Hemisphere somewhere.

My '67 911S was delivered (finished build date?) on October 26, 1966. It's Vin #306570. It's a light Ivory car. Built later than yours...but with an October '66 build date. Maybe yours was built earlier than October...

Hi Rich
What a great looking car you have.
According to the records and previous owner my car built Aug 66 but not road registered here in the UK till Jan 67. so that would tie in with your Oct build date.

Just to show a comparison - and that there are a *few* surviving British RHD 'S's out there - here my 'S' - a sister car to Mike's - #305481SOriginally Posted by 210bhp
Built August '66 and registered in the UK in September '66 as the second 'S' in the sequence LYV 9D, LYV 10D and LYV 11D she's the earliest surviving by registration - Mike's is an earlier production.
Oh - and they both go like stink
