I was high bidder and had meet reserve, I didn't know you could pull item after reserve had been meet. I had always assumed you could do it anytime before reserve had been meet.

So... I can imagine you are somewhat displeased? Have you had communication with the seller? explanation?

    From the ebay ad:

Well a lot of ads have that disclaimer. But it would not seem like the proper thing to do once your reserve has been met. I have sold a few cars on ebay and have always had them advertised other places. Always get a million emails saying what would you sell car for and my reply is alwys the same- you are free to make an offer and I will consider it, people rearely take me up on that offer. I'm curious about the protocol I look in to it and post my findings.

Car was posted on PCA before Ebay. Seller sold car

at price above the ebay reserve, unfortunately this all happened after it was posted on Ebay. Real car. You can always cancel ebay bids and end the auction early if you sell before the auction ends. I know this was not the sellers original intent, but he stuck to the earlier add. His call. Could have run out the ebay auction and most likely gotten more.

pu911rsr, too bad this didn't work out. It would have been nice to keep in the neighborhood.

I knew a potential deal was in the works so no hard feelings.

This is anecdotal but for what it's worth...

I bought a vintage BMW motorcycle to restore off of e-Bay (5 years ago) that had no reserve and before the auction ended. The seller was local to me so I asked via e-mail if I could have a look at the bike. Upon seeing it I him made an offer which he immediately accepted and then canceled the auction...

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

From the photos it stands a bit too tall on its suspension for a '70 911 (my eye)...

looked like a fairly decent car from the 30ft photos, ride height might have been a bit high although most of us are use to seeing euro or lower these days but my question is what was up with the 1967 fuchs?
