6 year concours job is done at last!!!

After 6 years, almost to the day, my 73 2.4S Targa project is complete and back on the road. I am still seeking a few minor parts to replace some slightly less than perfect parts but 99.99% of its perfect in my mind.

Hope you like the completed item photos and I am never doing this again except maybe to my RS!!!!

    Thumbs up

    Outstanding!!!

You've set the bar very high Clyde. Kudos to you for sticking with it.

That's what you call restored to better than new. That underside has never looked better. Literally.

I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.

Thanks Bobby and Stacey. Bobby there were many times that I wished I hadn't started at all particularly when I started adding up receipts!!!!!

Stacey hows my favourite RUF RS going these days. Missed not being in the passenger seat at Ventura, hoping to get to the R Gruppe meeting in May instead so I will be angling for another spin mate.

What kind of black paint did you use on the suspension parts and oil tank. Is that powder coat?

Yes its all powder coated, not correct I know but I like its durability and the powder coater is a mate so the price is right also. Its hard to tell the difference from 10 feet and if I had done it in satin/matt hardly anybody would know but I like the semi gloss look.

Oh, not the dreaded 'exception clause'. Don't do this to yourself again.

Really an incredible job Clyde, congrats! I am sure you figured this out but whatever you do, DO NOT total up the receipts.

Mighty fine....after adding up the receipts I'll bet it's a challenge to get in and actually drive the thing down a dirty road huh?
