Well, I would not consider that car at being a 52k original mile car. The owner had better produce records showing a history documenting the mileage.
It sure looks like it was outside for a while, that interior is worn/faded.
As always, buyers beware and use a PPI from a reputable shop.

Thanks for the heads up. Black with red leather.......nice resto candidate.
It's a 73 though, not a 72.
I actually love this original red leather patina!!! Especially in sport seats and especailly love it when the red leather turns a bit dark! In my opinion, I rather have nice patina on my leather seats than having a brand new leather seat with no signs of age. Just my opinion...

I think I saw this one advertised in St. Louis a few months back. Can't remember the exact details, but the story behind the miles seemed plausable. I think it was a one owner car that belonged to a doctor and it may have had some dealer records.
....might not be the same car, but how many 73S targa's with red sport seats are there?
Anyway, sounded like there were some small rust issues, but I really thought hard about snatching it up and selling the 67. In the end though, I decided that my bahama yellow coupe was still cooler than red sport seats in a targa
This car was on ebay in September and didn't meet the reserve at $18,209. It's amazing how the car reappears without any mention or photos of the door jambs, an area that showed SERIOUS rust issues in the eralier auction. Of course, the seller may have fixed that, but I seriously doubt it.
Below is a link to the earlier auction and photos.
