    Gold Mettalic

Very cool color. Maybe I should keep it and paint it metallic gold.

    Cheers,

John, I dunno why so many metallic gold cars were repainted a different color back in the day. I liked the color, but evidently many of the owners back then didn't. Of course, I do have my favorite shade of green....

Looks like the car has been sold.

Not Sold - But Not For Sale

    Greetings...

As it turns out the sale did not happen. What a relief! I've decided to sell my '98 C2S and keep the Targa. I can always find another C2S but it would be a challenge to find another Targa this nice.

    Over and out,

    Good choice.

The reason folks switched from metallic gold is because of the color it changed to under night lighting conditions when they drove up to the restaurant.. at least that's what I've heard.

    Metalic Gold

I know someone with a car this colour and has all original paint except for one fender.

This "colour" is essentially NLA as the size of the metalic particals of the original paint is very fine and no one currently produces a product like it.

    Just an FYI

Good point Bob. The particles are also shaped differently and don't reflect light the same way.

One of the biggest problems with the early metallic paints was with the clearcoat used that was not resistant to UV rays. It would break down very quickly in sunlight and look like sheit in no time and need repainting. By then the paint looked so crappy that they wanted any colour but gold.

But, I would love to have a gold coupe.
