Oh, btw, for the extra $25K I'd probably have them assemble it and paint it in my livery .....

    Buy it now !!!!

The last I heard of this 917/30 was that it was 'traded' as a part exchange for $$$ owed to Porsche by Alan Hamilton(Porsche Cars Australia) during the less than friendly take over of the Hamilton family run Porsche franchise here in Australia in the early 1990s.
Much bitterness was incurred due to the hostile nature of this 'takeover' and some longterm owners especially in Melbourne have not ever completely forgiven Porsche for this act of piracy.
This 917/30 was built up from a spare space frame and as such had no contemporary race history, similar to Gerry Sutterfield's.
Perhaps Lisa might want to comment !

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.

Curt - Do you remember what publication you found that ad for 917/30 004?

Gulf - Do you have any sources regarding the issues Hamilton and Porsche had?

I'm trying to pin down the dates, at least the years, that 917/30 004 was owned by Allan and Porsche.

    Thanks
