    I take it as an insult that they call '73 the "best year". And that whole thing about "1st gear being where it should be". DAMN.

    $21k for that? What a mess. It will cost another $10k just to strip/redo the paint and restore the interior.
    As for the disparaging comment about the 901 gearbox pattern, well let's just say that that is "broker-speak".

    According to the Red Book this was a CIS 1973.5 911T from the factory (VIN 9113111565)

    I think converting from MFI to CIS would be extremely expensive.

    Well ... after they went to the expense to convert the Tranny to "1st gear being where it should be", the cost to go to CIS must have been trival

    Normally first gear is inside the transmission. Maybe they put it somewhere else??!
