    Steering Wheel Refurbishing

    Greetings....

Now that I have decided to keep my '72 911S Targa, I'm going to go ahead and have a 914 steering wheel that I have on hand refurbished to RS specs. I'm aware of a place in Florida called Alan Gun Leather Accessories that does this kind of work. They did the wheel on my '73 S but the previous owner was not 100% pleased with the results. Are there other folks on the left coast who do this type of work?

    Thanks,
    John Audette

    John,
Before you send any steering wheel to AGLA do a search on Pelican.
From what I have read, there probably is a reason the previous owner
    was not satisfied.

I believe Tony Garcia of Autobahn does steering wheels.
    He is in San Diego.

    John,

I will second what Chris has said. Don't send any $$$ to AGLA. Consider sending the wheel to Tony's shop. They did a nice job on a 914-6 wheel for me. Make sure they use the correct stitching pattern though. They did the same XXXXX pattern all the way around the wheel which is incorrect. The area going from the XXXX pattern to the spokes should be a baseball style pattern. That was my only complaint.
