    Driving 'Em

    Greetings....

My son, his father-in-law, and myself went for a drive to Smith Rocks here in Central Oregon a while back. Lots of great back roads in this part of the country -- what a great place to drive 'em! Here's a picture of his '71 S Sunroof Coupe (2.2), my '72 S Targa (2.4) and my '73 S (2.7).

Wishing the snow would go away,

It's great to see your family driving the family of cars. Now you need another family member to buy a SWB and you have a complete set.

It's a hard choice, but my favorite is the '73 S Coupe that has been built to 2.7 RS specs. Ran it on the dyno a couple of weeks ago and it delivered 210 HP - plus it has a much upgraded and tuned suspension. It's fun to drive anywhere, especially on the track.

But they're all fun cars. I really like the driving the 2.2's up on the revs. And the Targa has really grown on me. I've always thought they were kind of ugly ducklings, but they're a pleasure to drive.

I like them all so much that I just sold my '98 993 C2S.

    Cheers,
    John Audette
