    Dick Moran's 73T in Excellence Magazine !

    MIRACLE IN BLACK

Just received the Feb06 issue of Excellence.
Great article on a very nice early 911 !
The attention to detail & upgrades to this car is really
something. I'm sure most of you have seen this car, but
it was my 1st time. Reading the article last nite, I
recognized the names of the enthusiasts that had a hand
    in this cars creation.
The collection of early Porsche's in this group continues
    to amaze me !!!
Congrats Dick & to everyone that helped with this

    ANOTHER Dick Moran sighting

Lately, we all have been noticing Dick Moran's name come up on various threads.

Well, I am glad to read this is one is NOT just about RS's.
Or his award winning GT Speedster.
Or his award winning twin grill Roadster.
Or his award winning 356 Coupe.
Dick's GT 911 is the best around. I should know, I've tried to copy it in many ways, taken many pages from the ol' Dick Moran play book

I'm glad to see the GT911 gets its 15 minutes

Dick really is one of the BEST!! Congratulations

Yeah, Dick is one of the nicest guys I know - well deserved!

BTW, Ray, I bought a copy of "Porsche 911: Perfection By Design" by Randy Leffingwell. Your '72S Targa in Olive looks sensational. Congrats!!

Could this be the Christmas spirit?

Thanks for the kind words guys.

But the real credit for my Speedster - 356GT - belongs to John Willhoit and his team whose spectacular creativity and and workmanship helped me achieve a longstanding dream of building a modern Speedster that's true to the soul of the original machine.

Similarly, my 1973 T hot rod - GT911 - was inspired by a whole legion of early 911 enthusiasts, but mainly I have to thank Roger Grago whose constant generosity and tireless enthusiasm for the R Gruppe ethos are manifested in just about every aspect of the car. And thanks, too, to my friend Jeff Smith, who encouraged me to have master transmission builder Gordon Ledbetter rebuild, regear and Wevo-ize the gearbox.

And, weather permitting, I plan to drive the Speedster to Crystal Cove on Saturday, December 31. Should be a big crowd that day, including the Eade Hopkinson posse on their way up north of Los Angeles for their New Year's celebration. Hope to see many of you there.

I was very happy to receive this issue based on Dick's car. One of the nicest and best executed early hot rods!

    Dick,
Thanks for the kind words! All I've done is offer my opinion and a little help to a good friend.

The article about Dick's car HAD to be the first one read - and it was a good read.

Thanks Dick for putting together such a beautiful inspiration. And now that you have your mods printed in black and white, I'm sure you won't mind a few being borrowed.

Looking forward to your next project....
