There was a 'register' run by a guy by the name of Tillotson in Florida years ago.He apparently had quite a worldwide list.
I sent the details about 10 years ago of my then current '75 Carrera Targa but haven't heard anything since.
From memory I got his address from an Excellence ad.
I can fossick in the archives if you need further info.

I know neither of us are the "PCA Type", but for the few bucks it costs, Pano has some worthwhile info. Like registry info.

I may get slammed for this statement, But the reason that club died is because a 74/75 U.S. Carrera is a nothing car. It's a 74/75 S with flares, and the infamous 2.7 U.S. engine. I know because I bought a 75 Carrera targa, and rebuilt the engine and trans. When I sold it on ebay I took a bath.

I agree about the U.S. models, but I think Robert was asking about the euro Carrerras which we all know are an entirely different animal.

That is a glass half empty statement. Some would consider the 74 US Carrera the same as it's Euro counterpart except for the engine which I guess IS a bg deal. The car is the same otherwise and it is the least expensive way to buy a car with a ducktail and side decals that is a real car. I enjoyed my 74 while I owned it but you are right it really is not as special as some other early Porsches which is why I outgrew mine. I think if your car was a Coupe with the tail and decals you would have done much better.

Fair statement, Rick. I imagine the ducktails and flares are the most valuable pieces from those US Carreras.

Don said that for the auction I needed to put CARRERA side strips on it to make it more authentic. Maybe he was right. I just have a sour taste in my mouth from that deal. yes, the 74 ducktail is a wothwhile piece, but the 75 spoiler was also bonded to the original steel decklid. I am sure a 74 coupe would have done a lot better. But $10,500! With 106 watchers! Heck, the engine and trans rebuild was that much!
