    911 360 1642

Has anyone actually looked at this car? I'm wondering if the tell tale RS pieces are there?......i.e. the harness plates in the speaker deck and the reinforcement plate over the shift tunnel.

I talked to a freind of mine who imported a lot of RSs and RSRs in the 80's.......he said he's seen VINs in the 1600's

    What do you guys think?

I would love to hear about any RS vins in the 1600s. I guess there could have been a secret batch of 150+ cars built that the factory won't admit to. Seriously I did alot of legwork on this car and the Factory has no record of this car. There are no rear trailing arm extensions as on the later RSs.

Are you saying the later RSs had provisions for the short arms?.....I've never seen that on a '73 RS.....only RSRs.

The guy that told me he's seen VINs in the 1600s is really sharp and I have no reason not to believe him.....but who knows?

I had a 74 Carrera a couple of years ago. That had the reinforcing on the torsion tube just like the 73RS, but not the belt mounts on the rear shelf. There is one picture of the VIN on that car that looks suspicious to me

The last batch of Carrera RS 2.7s used the short rear arms. The last RS was 1590. Konradschein also had no record either of any higher numbers. I do not doubt your friend seeing numbers higher than 1590. In the 80's there were lots of fakes. I think since the RS bible was published it has made it easier to authenticate these cars and weed out the fakes. Before then it would make sense to fake a car with a higher number rather than risk duplicating an existing car. This car was probably done as an RS in the 80s and upgraded to G bodywork later. Either way Porsche has no record of the car.

This car has a mis printed , stamped Vin #..
It has none of the chassis reinforcments in place, and is not an RS.. It's production # is far off in relation to the VIN. Its a srcew up.. It is a pre Feb73 built car,, definetly a 73 model, but what , i dont know.
RS's had short arms nearing production end..!!!!!

One last, the production number did not match the vin and Porsche could not tell me or did not want to tell me what the production number was to. In the vin picture you can see the rivet to one of the gas tank hold down plates so it could have been an S.
