interest in rear seat delete shelf???

Using my original rear seat delete shelf for measurements, I will be having made a repro rear seat delete shelf for my other '70 S Coupe. It should fit LWB 911's, Coupes only?

I was going to have extras made, put them on the market. They can come in 2 versions, preassembled and in precut pieces including hardware.
Both versions are without carpet and leather/vinyl. Too hard to match individually. REALLY easy to do yourself, I did mine.

Not sure about pricing, market value?? I can have them made by the Literature Show for pick-up.

Below are photos of mine, any interest????

I am definitely interested, but have a SWB '68 coupe. Any chance it would fit?

Ray, is that a pic of the original, or the repop?
The Targa shelf is definatly differant. I had one of each, and they were not interchangable between coupe and Targa. Any idea on price Ray, for a completed one?

Are the push buttons identicle? And the reciever latches.

    in the shop

    Rick,

The photos are of the original. I recovered the face only in the read leather leftover from the reupholstry. The black doors are the original vinyl, as well as the carpet. As far as the push buttons, reciever latches, they are possibly original also. I honestly don't know what the real ones look like. The holes in the door match up to the buttons. I am not going for the Concours look, just practicality.

I have the original at the shop. Measurements and a template are being made today. The first ones will be of LWB, '69-73 Coupes. I say this using both my '70 S Coupes as the "test mule." You would know more than I if the 70 matches 69-73. I will then use my '72 Targa for Targa Shelves.

72tii, thanks for the interest. As soon as I can find a SWB Coupe (Sam)
I can make a template for those also.

There are some changes I am making to the repro:

The sides will be contoured more for the inertia reel of the seat belts. In the side view photo, you can see the color change of the wood, where I had to "massage" it to fit. It will also be sealed to prevent moisture rot/warping. My original was splintering in many areas from water damage. When the carpet is in place, you will not beable to see the difference.

The front lip will be raised approx. 1/2". This is to prevent items from sliding over the top during hard braking.

As far as the push botton on the door fronts, they will be gone. I will be using a "push-pop out" type release on the door fronts. Cleaner look, easier to upholster.

I will then weigh the original vs. the repro. and give detailed specs on wood used, hardware, etc.

I want to make sure this shelf is "quality" before I offer it for sale. When I get the bill, you'l know the price.

Rick, if you, or anyone else, have suggestions, let me know.
