    The Racing Targa

    I've recently come across information regarding a Targa that participated in the 1972 Tour de France . This is the only early racing Targa I've ever heard of. Here're the stats:

    Car: Porsche 911S Targa
    Entrant: Edward Negus
    License Plate Nr.: GB TGV429J ?
    Event: 1972 Tour de France
    Race Nr.: 36 ?

    I have no photos. Anybody have anything on this car?

    Curt,

    In the Chris Harvey Porsche 911 book of 1980,there is a pic of a rally targa on p112.
    The plates look Italian but it is difficult to see what the rally plate says or which model it is or even a drivers name.
    Seems to be a serious rally 911 of the era - very early 911,probably a short wheelbase - Bonomelli ?
