The other day I had the 'pleasure' of removing my old speedo cable since it made the needle jump. (sounds like an LP). The old cable had an integrated elbow joint where it entered the base of the speedo. The new cable did not. After a couple of hours of 'go fish' I had the new cable connected. I was concerned about the lack of an elbow, but figured the new cable was probably tougher. My theory held for about 10 miles and then the speedo quit. It appears the angle of entry in the speedo was too severe and bamo, it broke.

Hence my question above - or do I just need to exercise extreme caution and loop as much cable as possible to help mitigate another 3 hours of fun besides what awaits?
